The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Initiative reimagines a liberal arts education for the 21st century by preparing students to be innovators in a rapidly changing world.
The I&E Initiative advances important and in-demand skills and experiences for students, alumni, and faculty who wish to apply the liberal arts by thinking critically, engaging creatively with technology, working iteratively, taking smart risks, and prototyping tangible solutions to real-world issues.
Entrepreneurial approaches to problem solving are a key component of leadership and service, and valuable across all fields and professions. A hallmark of a Davidson education is that students are producing knowledge rather than passively consuming it ,and entrepreneurship (broadly defined) is a key way our students actively produce knowledge.
Our programs focus on the nexus between liberal arts and an entrepreneurial mindset. Creating bridges between real-world problem solving and the classroom, we provide access to emerging technologies, community, funding, industry expertise, innovation space, project-based courses, mentorship and more for entrepreneurs of all ages and experience levels.
